Position Overview 

As a Forklift Driver in the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within production and warehouse facilities. This position involves operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished products to designated locations, supporting manufacturing processes and inventory management. The Forklift Driver is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols, and performing routine equipment inspections to prevent accidents and downtime. Collaboration with warehouse staff, production teams, and logistics personnel is essential to coordinate material flow and meet production schedules. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to smooth manufacturing operations and the timely delivery of durable goods to customers. 

Responsibilities 

  • Operate forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently within manufacturing and warehouse areas.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage racks with raw materials and finished products.
  • Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to prioritize material handling tasks and support production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved and assist with inventory counts as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized to facilitate smooth operations and reduce risks.

Qualifications 

  • Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by local regulations.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and material handling procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and safety instructions.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting, standing, and maneuvering equipment for extended periods.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and barcode scanning technology.
  • Additional certifications in workplace safety or equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
