\n- You’ll develop and maintain project budgets and baselines, short‑ and long‑term forecasts, and expenditure plans for assigned major and/or multi‑year projects and programs.
- You’ll aggregate, reconcile, and update budgets, forecasts, and spending plans across jurisdictional splits, asset types, cost drivers, and funding sources.
- You’ll prepare routine and complex cost reports to support Project Managers and operating unit partners in monitoring and forecasting performance, including budget, actuals, commitments, contingencies, earned value, cost per unit, and cost impact analyses, as well as respond to internal and external data requests.
- You’ll develop and maintain risk registers and evaluate contingency requirements using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods, such as Monte Carlo analysis.
- You’ll perform detailed research, updates, and analysis related to cost controls, including budget, actuals, commitments, contingencies, earned value, unit costs, and cost impacts.
- You’ll prepare and present analyses, alternatives, and recommendations to support business decisions, manage project costs and schedules, and mitigate risks across major and/or multi‑year projects and programs.
- You’ll support change control, contract negotiations, and claims management through performance analysis, reporting, and application of SCE or industry cost metrics, including earned value management.
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and apply estimating, cost management, and scheduling techniques and tools to identify, analyze, and communicate trends, variances, and cost impacts.
- You’ll prepare project controls data request responses and supporting work papers for corporate and operating unit governance, internal and external audits, General Rate Cases, and regulatory filings.
- You’ll assess customer needs and recommend appropriate approaches to resolve complex or significant matters by applying established procedures or determining the most suitable course of action.
- You’ll evaluate compliance with defined standards and provide training and mentorship to support the development of future project controls professionals.
- You’ll operate as an individual contributor under the direction of a senior or lead project controls specialist or manager, following approved policies, guidelines, and work instructions.
- You’ll collaborate with project managers, functional leaders, discipline leads, and team members within a matrixed organization and may temporarily lead assignments or functional teams as required.
- You’ll make day‑to‑day decisions based on established policies, project controls and project management bodies of knowledge, and guidance from supervisors and stakeholders.
- You’ll execute all Project Controls activities aligned to Essential Job Functions, maintain strong working relationships, manage varying service‑level requirements, meet performance goals safely and effectively, demonstrate SCE’s values and guiding behaviors, and carry no direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Flexible: The work location for this role may include a combination of remote work, client‑site presence, and time in an Accenture office or delivery center.
- All roles include some in‑person collaboration to support learning, relationship‑building, and teamwork. Accenture offers flexibility wherever possible to support individual work‑life needs.
- A combination of education, training, and experience, generally equivalent to those typically possessed by a 4-year college graduate
- 7+ years’ experience in cost controls/management
- Professional experience in Project Management, Project Controls, and/or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Professional experience using Microsoft software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Solutions application
- Experience with Project Controls software (e.g. Project, Primavera and Contract Manager)
