Position Summary
The Financial Analyst supports the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities by gathering and analyzing financial and operational data, identifying trends and variances, and preparing reports that support informed business decisions.
This role assists with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and month-end and year-end activities while partnering with Finance and operational leaders to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and meaningful. ✅ Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Analyze revenue, expenses, and operational performance metrics to identify trends and areas requiring further review.
Perform variance analysis comparing actual financial results against budgets and forecasts.
Investigate significant variances and assist in identifying underlying business drivers.
Prepare financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes by gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial and operational data.
Collaborate with department leaders to collect assumptions and financial information needed for budgets and forecasts.
Assist with cash flow forecasting and ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
Update forecasts and supporting schedules as business conditions and assumptions change.
Financial Modeling & Decision Support
Develop and maintain financial models, spreadsheets, and analytical reports.
Organize financial and operational data to support business cases, planning activities, and management decisions.
Analyze historical performance and trends to provide meaningful financial insights.
Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as requested.
Financial Systems & Data Management
Maintain and update financial databases, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and supporting schedules.
Review financial information for completeness and accuracy.
Help ensure consistency and integrity of financial data used for reporting and analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and increase efficiency.
Accounting & Financial Review Support
Support month-end and year-end close activities as needed.
Assist Finance with reconciliations, schedules, reporting, and other close-related activities.
Provide supporting financial information and documentation for internal and external audits.
Collaborate with Finance and other departments to research and resolve financial discrepancies.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or a related analytical role.
Relevant internship experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or business analytics preferred.
Recent graduates with relevant education, internship experience, or demonstrated analytical skills are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
Financial Analysis: Basic understanding of financial statements, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in Excel with the ability to organize, analyze, and present financial data effectively.
Financial Modeling: Ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets and basic financial models used for reporting, forecasting, and decision support.
Data Analysis: Ability to evaluate financial and operational data, recognize trends, and identify discrepancies or areas requiring additional analysis.
Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Financial Systems: Ability to learn and effectively utilize financial databases, accounting systems, and reporting tools.
