Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Ponca City, OK 74601Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayCNC Machinist Job Description   Department: Production Machine Shop   Job Status: Full-Time   FLSA Status: Hourly   Reports To: Manager- Machine Shop   Location: Ponca City, OK   Amount of Travel Required: N/A   Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.                Positions Supervised: N/A   POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior CNC Machinist performs detailed machine setups, G & M Code (CNC) editing, machine process improvement and troubleshooting, and produces machined parts to print.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.") Setup/teardown of machine tools quickly, accurately, and efficiently – load and/or unload jaws, fixtures and tooling as needed. Work with CAM programming department to develop and improve CNC programs. Aid in the design and fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexity Advise supervisor and programming team of machine print and production issues to increase production. Operate specific machine tools to produce close tolerance machined parts per engineering routing instructions. Load and unload parts from machine. Keep immediate area clean and orderly Use measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges etc. Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality System. Perform other duties as required to assist with successful operations and business continuity. QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS   Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).   EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL   High School Diploma or GED equivalent certificate. Post-secondary CNC education preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment not required, but highly desirable.   QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES   Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills High level of manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to edit programs. Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity. Capable of working in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to read a measuring tape.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT   The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (long-sleeve shirt/jeans, blasting hood, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and blasting gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies.
