Job Description:

This position will assist assist with conservation practices/land management activities within 11 areas of the Northeast Region of the Parks Division. Position will headquarter out of Ponca State Park.

Location: Ponca State Park or another park in the Northeast Region as mutually agreed upon the Regional Park Superintendent.


 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:  1 year experience OR 1 year coursework/training in fisheries management, natural resources, biology, and/or agriculture.  

Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's degree in wildlife, fisheries, natural resources or biology. Applicants with Pesticide Applicators license and Class A CDL license with O endorsement preferred. Driver’s license required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of wildlife habitat management principles, goals and objectives. Ability to communicate effectively, work with little supervision and with a variety of staff. Computer skills (Excel, Word, ArcMap/GIS) highly desirable. Knowledge of and ability to operate tractors, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's), chainsaws, and farm equipment.

JOB DUTIES:
Under general direction of Northeast Region Superintendent and area Park Superintendents, the position will assist in the implementation of a wide-variety of land management activities. These activities will include prescribed burning, control of noxious weeds/invasive species, woodland management, seeding, seed harvest, and related conservation practices. Position will assist with entering data, creating maps, creating plans, etc. in ArcMap/ArcGIS.
