Description

Vacancy for a paraprofessional to provide program support to elementary-age students in general education and/or special education settings, including lunch and recess supervision. This position works 7 hours per day.

Qualifications

  • Paraprofessionals must possess 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits of study from an institution of higher education or an AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, OR must provide a passing score on the MN ParaPro Test or
    ParaEducator Assessment.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND STRENGTHS

  • Knowledge of land-based learning and experiential learning
  • Knowledge of Ojibwe language revitalization efforts and their importance.
  • Mediation and restorative justice skills
    Experience assisting with social-emotional learning
