Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is seeking a caring, energetic, and service-oriented Children's Club Attendant to provide a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for the children of our members and guests. This position is responsible for supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, maintaining a clean and organized childcare environment, and ensuring all child safety policies and procedures are followed. The Children's Club Attendant delivers exceptional hospitality while creating a fun, nurturing atmosphere that reflects the Club's commitment to excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Welcome members, guests, parents, and children with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of children throughout their visit.
  • Plan, organize, and participate in age-appropriate games, crafts, educational activities, and recreational programs.
  • Foster a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment while promoting positive behavior and inclusion.
  • Follow all child check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring children are released only to authorized parents or guardians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, and welcoming Children's Club, Nursery, and play areas.
  • Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, furniture, and activity areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory of toys, games, crafts, and supplies, notifying leadership when replenishment is needed.
  • Accurately process childcare reservations, member charges, and related transactions using reservation and point-of-sale systems.
  • Maintain the reception and check-in area in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
  • Answer telephones courteously, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Become proficient in all required computer systems, reservation software, and point-of-sale functions.
  • Promote Children's Club programs, camps, activities, and special events to members and guests.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and administer CPR, AED, or First Aid when necessary.
  • Attend required training sessions, safety courses, departmental meetings, and child safety education programs.
  • Report safety hazards, accidents, incidents, and equipment concerns promptly.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families through exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
  • Support other Recreation and Club operations as business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Children's Club Manager, Children's Club Supervisor, or Director of The Reef.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to communicate effectively with members, guests, children, parents, and fellow team members.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of childcare experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a childcare center, camp, school, recreation program, private club, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a family-focused environment is a plus.

Certifications

  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required or must be obtained within the introductory period.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of childcare best practices, child development, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Understanding of child safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, patient, and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional member and guest service.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and actively participate in children's activities throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to supervise multiple children while remaining alert and attentive.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to successfully complete CPR, AED, and First Aid certification requirements.

Schedule

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including:

  • Days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts
  • Overtime as business needs require
