Position Summary
The Repair Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and correcting defects on tractors and related components throughout the assembly process. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all products meet quality, safety, and performance standards prior to shipment. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, extensive experience using hand and power tools, and the ability to quickly identify and resolve assembly-related issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and assembly-related issues on tractors during production.
  • Troubleshoot defects identified during quality inspections and testing.
  • Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall defective components and assemblies.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, schematics, and repair procedures.
  • Perform functional testing and inspections to verify repairs meet company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, defects, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with rework activities on tractors and subassemblies as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.

  • 1-3 years of SAP experience. 

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical repair, maintenance, assembly, or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong experience using a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, automotive, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, or assembly environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience repairing tractors, agricultural equipment, heavy machinery, automotive systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and mechanical systems.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
