Perioperative Instrument Technician – Full-Time

Location: Trinity Health Oakland Hospital, Pontiac, MI

Schedule: Full-Time/Day Shift

About the Role:

Join our Perioperative Services team as a Perioperative Instrument Technician. In this vital role, you’ll support surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment. You’ll also assist with patient transport and positioning, and collaborate closely with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and prepare surgical instruments and supplies for procedures.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment.
  • Assist in operating rooms with retractor holding and patient positioning.
  • Transport patients safely and maintain confidentiality.
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in healthcare or OR experience preferred.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in patient care within an invasive/minor procedure environment.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
