Position Purpose 

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, tools and machines to improve safety, quality and efficiency in assembly operations. This role collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement new processes and continuously improve existing ones to ensure assembly operation is safe and delivers best quality, cost and efficiency. This position also mentors junior engineers and leads cross‑functional improvement projects.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities 

  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for assembly. 
  • Create and maintain process documentation. 
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process issues and improvements. 
  • Responsible for the support of new product introduction pertaining to manufacturing processes. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Lead implementation of CAPEX projects. 
  • Provide technical support and training for production personnel. 
  • Lead optimization of material movement using lean principles to eliminate waste and improve flow. 
  • Develop internal logistics and material flow strategy including container strategy, replenishment methods, route frequency, storage locations, supermarkets, kanban systems, kitting cells, sequencing strategies and lineside presentation. 
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies (AGVs, AMRs, digital kanban, tugger optimization, point-of-use storage). 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.  
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly operations. 
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies. 
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing documentation tools. 
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience implementing CAPEX projects. 
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems is a plus. 
  • Experience with PFMEA or risk assessment tools is a plus. 
  • Experience with logistics engineering or material flow optimization activities is a plus. 

 

Job Conditions

  • Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment
