Job Purpose
The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, evaluating, and managing a comprehensive wellness program for FCC staff with a balanced emphasis on all dimensions of wellness (mental, physical, social, financial, spiritual, environmental, and occupational).
Qualifications
- At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in health education, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in wellness program development.
Core Job Duties
- Leads a comprehensive wellness program; leads/chairs the Wellness Program Committee.
- Develops, coordinates, plans, facilitates, and markets/leads wellness initiatives, activities, and events.
- Develops creative program materials, including promotional items; communicates clearly and effectively the employee wellness opportunities through multiple venues; writes wellness-related articles.
- Plans and implements classes, speakers, & seminars that promote healthy lifestyles.
- Develops and provides educational presentations and training programs.
- Gathers and analyzes data to measure program success on wellness initiatives and compiles an annual comprehensive report that outlines the impact of the wellness program.
- Establishes multiple criteria, procedures, and instruments for assessing program effectiveness to employees, such as developing and disseminating an annual employee survey.
- Assists in the development of the budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.
- Monitors program budget and assures appropriate expenditure of funds with detailed record keeping and reporting.
- Recruits and facilitates wellness leaders within FCC Programs and Departments.
- Collaborates with the Human Resources Department to promote preventative health benefits.
- Maintains awareness of current national wellness initiatives and activities and develops a network of resources and contacts to further expand the Employee Wellness Program.
- Coordinates onsite health screenings, lunch and learn seminars, blood drives, flu-shots, fitness classes, etc.
- Establishes relationships with all internal programs and departments to increase involvement in wellness components.
- Maintains relationships with outside organizations to further develop internal agency wellness resources and initiatives.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
