Position Overview

Precise Engineering is seeking an experienced Field Technician IV – Field Safety Technician to support safety operations at the Golden Pass LNG Terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas. This role is 80% field-based and 20% permit office support.

Candidates must live within one hour of the plant. New submissions are required. Previously interviewed or shortlisted candidates will not be considered at this time.

This position currently operates on a Monday–Friday schedule (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with occasional weekend overtime. Toward the end of 2026, the role will transition to shift work for approximately 6–12 weeks in preparation for Train 2 startup, then return to the standard day schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the GPLNG Safety and Health Supervisor

  • Actively support site Safety and Health programs and compliance initiatives

  • Serve as a visible safety leader in the field, coaching employees and contractors

  • Interface with Golden Pass employees, contractors, and subcontractors

  • Assist with implementation and execution of Golden Pass SSH&E programs

  • Review start-work checks and promote last-minute risk assessments (LMRAs)

  • Lead and participate in toolbox talks

  • Perform hazard identification walks and assist in corrective actions

  • Conduct safety walks targeting key risk areas

  • Participate in incident investigations as requested

  • Promote and administer site recognition and safety reward programs

  • Support elevated work, crane lifts, confined space entry, excavation, and LOTO permitting

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a Safety-related role (Industrial, LNG, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Construction preferred)

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent field experience

  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certification (or higher-level safety training)

  • Experience in lifting and rigging, crane operations, confined space, and working at heights

  • Strong work permitting experience (elevated work, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, LOTO, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including speaking to large groups

Physical & Site Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and climb ladders in industrial environments

  • Comfortable working in high-paced, high-stress environments

  • Must wear required PPE including FRC, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and additional protective equipment as required

  • TWIC card required

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Must pass mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing
