Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 40 hours per week
Type: Contract | On-site

Precise Engineering is hiring an experienced Project Engineer III with an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) focus to support Golden Pass LNG Operating Company at its Sabine Pass terminal. This is a hands-on project engineering role inside a live operating environment — you will run multiple small capital and expense I&C projects at once, from scope definition and funding through commissioning, startup, and turnover back to Operations.
If you have built your career around field instrumentation, control systems, and getting projects executed safely in a running plant, this role puts you at one of the largest LNG facilities on the Gulf Coast.
What You'll Do
Health, Safety & Environment
Put protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and the community first in every decision.
Participate in HSE reviews, site observations, permit audits, and housekeeping inspections during field execution.
Project Management & Execution
Own routine project updating and forecasting, cost control, schedule adherence, change management, documentation, and closeout.
Work with the project owner to define scope, goals, and deliverables that progress through a staged-gate project management system.
Develop project cost and schedule estimates from vendor input and market conditions, and prepare funding requests.
Partner with discipline leads to determine applicable Golden Pass and industry specifications, policies, and procedures, and ensure project compliance.
Assemble specifications, procedures, scope of work, and supporting documentation into bid packages; coordinate bid evaluation, review, and award with Procurement.
Work directly with equipment and material vendors to specify, obtain quotes, and follow up on purchases of equipment and services.
Steward, plan, and oversee contractors, costs, progress against schedule, and scope of work.
Coordination, Commissioning & Turnover
Coordinate drawing and document reviews, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders, and incorporate changes into project documents.
Manage interfaces between contractors and Golden Pass functions including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and the Turnaround Planning Team.
Interface with maintenance planners to schedule site activities for maintenance projects.
Coordinate timely work permit issuance with Operations and Maintenance, and participate in commissioning and startup activities.
Build the project binder and documentation package, including check sheets supporting mechanical completion, commissioning, and startup.
Ensure all modifications are accurately documented, incorporated into the master set, and released back to Operations on time.
What You Bring
Degree in engineering or engineering technology, plus 12+ years of industry experience.
Project engineering experience at an operating facility on small capital and expense projects, with a proven ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience managing project budgets and schedules within acceptable tolerances.
Working knowledge of equipment specification and procurement processes.
Experience performing and coordinating loop checks, simple and complex function checks, site acceptance tests (SAT), and troubleshooting field issues.
Commissioning and startup planning and execution experience.
Working knowledge of petrochemical industry safe work management systems.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam.
Technical Areas
General knowledge across the areas below, with deep expertise in at least one:
Field instrumentation and controls
Actuated valve design and operations
Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and PLCs for packaged equipment

Preferred

What Sets You Apart
