ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes and special diet orders. Provides the level of supervision necessary to ensure that courteous and efficient service is delivered as well as high quality and nutritious foods.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dining Room Supervisor:

Assists in the planning, scheduling and supervision of dining staff.
Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, placing food orders and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
Assists in assuring staff education is provided to dining staff in accordance with the staff education plan plus provides on the job training for dining staff.
Assists in developing work assignments for all dining staff assigning specific jobs and spot checking work to ensure standards are met.
Responsible for completion of hall trays and accuracy.
Assures that meal tallies are accurate on a daily basis.
Assign cleaning schedules daily.

Other Duties:

Inspects equipment to determine repairs or maintenance needs.
Participates in cost control measures.
Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

High School diploma/GED required.
A minimum of two years supervisory experience in food service operations.
Certified in safety and sanitation in regards to food service.
Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal
service process and understand requests.

Salary: From $17.50 per hour
