We are focused on being the premier operator of Planet Fitness clubs, and look to live out our mission: “To create and foster an environment where everyone can enrich their life through fitness” With more than 2,700 locations, Planet Fitness (NYSE: PLNT) is one of the largest and most popular fitness chains in the world.  Planet Fitness possesses a highly recognized brand in the high-value, low-price segment of the market.QualificationsGeneral Responsibilities The Senior Area Manager will be responsible for the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience as well as a financially successful market ranging between 5 to 10 locations. The Sr. Area Manager will be accountable for leading a team of General Managers and their employees in a positive, motivating manner with continuous assistance in employee training and development, driving revenue and profitability, while ensuring brand standards are being met. Anticipated responsibilities outlined below.   Duties & Responsibilities Club Atmosphere Build, manage, and uphold Planet Fitness and Easy Mile Fitness core values and culture for each club Ensure each club has a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests through fantastic customer service Monitor and facilitate the resolution of all customer complaints in a timely manner Club Performance Ensure operations level KPIs are being met or exceeded to provide best-in-class operations Identify areas of opportunity in each club and develop action plans to make the needed improvements Leads the operational component of opening new, remodeled, or relocated clubs, including presale and local marketing efforts Escalate facility and maintenance issues as necessary to ensure timely completion of all requests Employee Development Ensure proper club staffing plans for each club location are implemented including recruiting, hiring, and training staff across General Managers, Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, and Trainers Oversee General Manager and Assistant General Manager development including leading and participating in managerial summits, mentoring and coaching, inclusive of performance evaluations Ensure club leaders can manage conflict in a timely, respectful, and fair manner Ensure that all Planet Fitness and Easy Mile Fitness policies and procedures are upheld Qualifications/Requirements Must have minimum 1 year of managerial experience in a customer facing retail environment A High School Diploma Or Equivalent is required A Bachelor's Degree or four years supervisory or manager experience preferred Hours are mostly Monday through Friday: 8am – 5pm Comfortable working a flexible schedule such as nights and weekend club visits as needed Must be able to travel and handle overnight trips Backup support for any Management on vacation or out for any reason Must possess strong time management, prioritization, communication, and presentation skills Ability to collaborate with all levels of individuals within the company Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) Current CPR Certification required or willingness to get certified upon hire A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Physical Requirements: Ability to talk and hear, sit, stand, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds. High visual demand, both for in club assessments and for the ability to view documents, spreadsheets, both in print and on computer screens.
