Job Description:

The Laboratory Technologist performs in-vitro analysis of biologic specimens according to established procedures for routine and specialized areas of the Laboratory. This individual also participates in supportive functions including but, not limited to quality control, instrument operation, troubleshooting, training and problem resolution.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, includes either 24 semester hours of clinical laboratory science courses, or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or clinical laboratory science in any combinations.

Preferred/Optional: Major in biology, microbiology, or molecular biology.

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: One or more years working in a laboratory.  Previous experience with lab instrumentation and testing.
