Position Summary: Provides direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron’s Values. Functions within a Team setting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Supports the mission and vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback.
- Contributes to the assessment of the patient’s physical and psychological needs and strengths in a comprehensive manner.
- Contributes to the individualized nursing care plan of patients.
- Contributes to the implementation of the patient’s plan of care.
- Contributes to the evaluation of the adult and geriatric patient’s plan of care.
- Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the nursing unit.
- Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency.
- Perform other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program
- Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse, NAPNES certification
- BLS and Canadian Equivalent
- CPI – Non-violent crisis intervention

Preferred:Â
- One (1) year of experience in mental health

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan. #LI-SA1
