This non-profit hospital features three centers of excellence: Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Job Details

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.  Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation
  • Identifies medications no longer in use in on units, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications
  • Assists in receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
  • Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date
  • Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately.  Files documentation in appropriate locations
  • Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner.  Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention
  • Assists with Pyxis inventory
  • Pre-pack medications in ready to use format
  • Fills mediation cassettes

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; 
  • PTCB or NHA Certification required
  • New York State Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Basic computer skills
  • 2 – 3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required


Salary Range

USD $36.72 - USD $36.72 /Hr.
