Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the full engineering scope of the multi-billion-dollar Extended Power Uprate (EPU) at Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant.

This role ensures technical excellence across all design, modification, and testing activities, while maintaining strict compliance with NRC regulations, industry standards, and Vistra governance. The Sr. Manager coordinates with EPC partners, OEMs, Owner’s Engineer, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, and constructible solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing plant systems. The position plays a critical role in balancing cost, schedule, and safety while ensuring long-term operability, maintainability, and regulatory readiness to support fleet reliability.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead engineering execution for multi-billion-dollar EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Oversee system modifications with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering teams to secure readiness, compatibility, and constructability.
  • Approve and govern engineering reviews, ensuring strict compliance with NRC requirements, NQA-1 standards, and fleet governance.
  • Manage Owner’s Engineer and independent third-party reviews to validate technical quality and execution feasibility.
  • Serve as the primary engineering interface with regulators and key stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
  • Resolve complex technical issues quickly to protect outage schedules and maintain project milestones.
  • Ensure all designs support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration with ongoing plant operations.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering
  • 10+ years in engineering or projects, with 5+ years in a leadership role or driving site design projects
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on large projects (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, and industry codes/standards (ASME, IEEE, ANSI, NERC).
  • Proven EPC / Owner’s Engineer oversight and regulatory interface experience.

Key Metrics

  • On-time delivery of engineering milestones.
  • Full compliance with NRC, INPO, and NQA-1 requirements.
  • Independent reviews completed with minimal corrective actions.
  • Strong coordination across project leadership, site engineering, EPCs, and third parties.
  • Designs that ensure seamless integration and long-term operability.
