About the Job:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facilities and equipment in an efficient manner to ensure a safe environment in adherence to established facility, federal, state, local and regulatory standards, laws, and policies. Performs routine and specific maintenance services which may include grounds work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Performs daily routine maintenance and repair on the facilities and equipment to include plumbing, sheet rock, electrical, carpentry, mechanical equipment repair, painting, sign making and changing, etc.,

· Maintains general plant and facilities in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment.

· Completes work orders and hazard reports in timely and efficient manner Reports and fix equipment malfunctions or breakdowns and all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the Director immediately.

· Ensures maintenance supplies are ordered, locally picked up or obtained and properly stored in maintenance area.

· Follows up-to-date preventative maintenance and repair schedule and completes report.

· Assists in maintaining parking lot and sidewalks, lawn care and landscaping as needed.

· Inspects and maintains emergency power equipment, tests/starts generator once a week and maintains equipment; inspects and maintains fire alarm system to include testing system, fire doors, audible alarms, visible alarms(lights) and smoke detectors and records data on appropriate forms as required by state or facility; checks condition and readiness of extinguishers monthly; inspects and maintains lighting system throughout facility.

· Inspects and maintains plumbing system, replaces or repairs faucets, toilet stools, urinals, traps, drains, basins and bathtubs, as needed; repairs or refinishes furniture in rooms, offices and dining room as needed.

· Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of workday, etc.

· Assists with ongoing compliance with fire and disaster drills and actual situation preparedness-conducting required drills as directed.

· Prepares rooms for meetings and arranges furniture for facility functions.

· Available to be on-call and work weekends as necessary

· Works with external contractors as requested.

· Assists with clients transports as requested.

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· At least two years’ experience in maintenance or facility operations required; health care facility preferred.

· Certification or licensure in trade such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC, etc. preferred.

· Valid state driver's license (if required by state and facility).
