Join our dynamic waste management team as a Waste Sanitation Sorter, where your energetic attitude and attention to detail will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for sorting and managing waste materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring sanitation standards are met across various facilities. Responsibilities and Duties

• Safely operate heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, and other sanitation equipment to handle waste materials efficiently.
• Sort recyclable materials from general waste streams with precision and care to promote recycling efforts.
• Assist with loading and unloading waste containers using appropriate heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling to prevent accidents or damage.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring sanitation standards are upheld throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as loaders, forklifts, and trucks to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Support waste collection activities by preparing containers for pickup, securing loads properly, and assisting with the transfer of waste to designated disposal or recycling sites.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

• Skills

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, or garbage trucks is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of sanitation procedures and waste management practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Excellent attention to detail when sorting recyclable materials from general waste streams.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for long periods of activity.
