Description

Position Summary

Are you high-energy, exceptionally organized, and passionate about guiding the next generation to know and love Jesus? We are looking for an Elementary Coordinator to lead, design, and execute a dynamic ministry for our elementary-aged kids.

This isn't a typical desk job. It is a fast-paced, highly rewarding role that requires a mix of creative stage presence, technical production, administrative wizardry, and relational leadership. You will oversee weekly services, coordinate major events, manage budgets, and—most importantly—build a thriving volunteer team to make it all happen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Weekly Service Prep & Production

  • Live Teaching & Stage Presence: Deliver engaging, high-energy live teaching messages that bring the Bible to life for elementary kids.
  • Curriculum & Lesson Plans: Prepare, adapt, and distribute weekly lesson plans that align with our ministry's vision.
  • Tech & Production: Oversee the technical elements of the elementary environment, including building slide decks in ProPresenter, programming lights, and editing videos for weekend services and social media.
  • Classroom Management: Actively manage classrooms to ensure a safe, fun, and distraction-free environment where kids can learn.
  • Set Up & Tear Down: Lead the physical setup and teardown of elementary environments, ensuring spaces are clean, welcoming, and excellent.

Team Building & Administration

  • Building Your Team: Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd a dedicated team of volunteer small group leaders and technical helpers.
  • Workflow & Operations: Establish and maintain smooth weekly workflows to ensure all prep work is completed ahead of the weekend rush.
  • Budgeting & Supplies: Keep the ministry fiscally healthy by managing the elementary budget and proactively ordering supplies for weekly lessons and upcoming events.
  • Staff Meetings: Actively participate in weekly staff and creative planning meetings to align with the broader church vision.

Discipleship & Family Engagement

  • Baptism Class: Facilitate and teach our kids' baptism class, helping children and parents understand this exciting step of faith.
  • Family Nights: Coordinate, prep, and host Family Nights on Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters.

Signature Events & Camps

  • You will be the point person or key collaborator for our major annual events, including:
  • Level Up Party (celebrating kids transitioning to the next grade)
  • Boys Conference & Girls Conference
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS)
  • SLKC Camp (Summer Camp)
  • Family Movie Nights
  • Christmas & Easter holiday services and outreaches

Requirements

Schedule & Expectations

Please Note: Ministry is a lifestyle, not just a job. The work schedule for this role is very demanding but offers flexibility during the week to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance. Because our primary environments happen on the weekend, working Saturdays and Sundays is non-negotiable.

Qualifications

  • A vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Proven experience leading in children's ministry or a similar educational/recreational setting.
  • Technical Savvy: Comfortable with or highly teachable in ProPresenter, basic video editing software, and light programming consoles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both on-stage to kids and off-stage to parents and volunteers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
