Position Overview
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services in Port St. Lucie, Florida for the 20262027 school year.
This school-based opportunity offers a 35-hour work week split between two nearby campuses. The position includes approximately 20 hours per week supporting students in a Kindergarten through 8th-grade school setting, and 15 hours per week serving students in a college-preparatory high school environment. This assignment provides the opportunity to work with students across a wide range of ages and communication needs while collaborating with supportive educational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students with communication disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEP goals.
Provide direct speech-language therapy services in individual and small-group settings.
Address articulation, language, fluency, voice, pragmatics, and other communication needs.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student success.
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Utilize evidence-based intervention strategies to improve students' communication skills and educational outcomes.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
Active Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (Clinical Fellows may be considered depending on district needs).
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Ability to effectively manage a caseload across multiple grade levels.
Work Environment
Approximately 20 hours per week serving students in a Kindergarten through 8th-grade school setting.
Approximately 15 hours per week serving students in a college-preparatory high school setting.
Collaborative multidisciplinary teams including educators, administrators, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers.
