WAC Group is seeking a Custom Project Engineer to join our growing Sales Operations team. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a technical resource and project leader, partnering with Sales, R&D, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to develop customized solutions that exceed customer expectations while supporting company profitability.

What You'll Do
Manage Custom Quotations and Projects
- Own and manage quotations within assigned territories and channels to ensure accuracy, validity, and timely follow-up
- Create custom quotations while working closely with R&D teams to minimize cost and lead-time impacts
- Prepare material quotations for Inside Sales, Outside Sales Representatives, and customers, including air freight estimates
- Validate custom leads by gathering and documenting project requirements with customers and sales partners
- Track project status and proactively communicate delivery schedules and updates
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to maximize project conversion and secure profitable orders
Provide Technical Solutions and Design Support
- Interpret customer requirements and recommend solutions that maximize value and profitability
- Create CAD drawings to support custom pricing requests and project development
- Complete fixture schedule crossovers and layouts
- Identify alternate solutions for discontinued products and potential material conflicts
- Provide design guidance and project support based on manufacturing capabilities
- Review project opportunities and identify requirements involving job names, commissions, and project-specific considerations
Deliver Exceptional Customer Support
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers, sales representatives, and internal teams
- Respond to escalated inquiries regarding pricing, lead times, project status, and competitive situations
- Partner across departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers and business partners
- Manage expectations through proactive communication and problem resolution
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
- Basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing and industrial design environments preferred
- Ability and willingness for minimal travel domestically and internationally as business needs require
- Excellent communication, project management, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Experience with SAP, Sugar CRM, Zendesk, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, or KeyShot is a plus

The expected salary is $84,000 - $100,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors allowed by law.
