The Port Washington Children’s Center (PWCC) is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Teacher’s Assistant to join our Early Childhood Program!
As a Teacher’s Assistant, you’ll work alongside our experienced teaching staff to create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. If you love working with children and want to be part of a team that makes a difference every day, we would love to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Help create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
- Build positive and nurturing relationships with children
- Assist with meals, rest time, transitions, and other classroom routines
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
- Prepare classroom materials and assist with activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
- Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers
- Follow all health, safety, and OCFS regulations and requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with young children preferred
- Experience in an early childhood or preschool setting is a plus
- Familiarity with OCFS regulations
- A positive, patient, and nurturing attitude
- Dependable and responsible
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, active classroom environment
- A genuine passion for helping young children learn and grow
