Custom Wire Technologies (CWT) is a leading OEM medical component manufacturer, with over 50 years of industry experience and implementation of the latest technology. Our services include wire coiling, grinding, forming, custom fine wire design, fine wire welding, laser processing, and manufacturing process validation. We are seeking a skilled individual with great attention to detail to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards in product quality.

 

OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will support our quality control processes. This role is critical in ensuring that products meet customer specifications and internal and external standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection, testing and documentation.
Position requires the inspection of parts and assemblies, utilizing precision measuring instruments and gauges as inspection tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inspections of incoming materials, first piece, in-process production, and finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications & complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports.
  • Aide in development of quality and inspection plans from design drawings meeting company requirements for ISO 13485.
  • Program and operate Vision System inspection machines. Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, gauges.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints.
  • Determine gauge and fixture requirements.
  • Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.
  • Assist the organization in enforcing the Quality System and maintain consistent standards.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Identify Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.
  • Conduct one-on-one training of quality procedures.
  • Recognize, report, and correct errors.
  • Regular physical attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years related quality experience, prior manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Ability to develop & write work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Office.

Preferred:

  • Quality Certificate or Associates degree in Quality.
  • Keyence, Micro Vu experience.
  • Prior quality experience with medical device.
  • Experience working in a job shop manufacturing environment.

JOB HOURS:

The Position responsibilities would primarily occur during the hours of 7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. This position may occasionally require overtime or work outside the regular shift hours. Travel not required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual is regularly required to talk and hear; use hands to manipulate objects or controls; see small objects with or without vision assistance; and stand and walk.  The individual must occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.  Typical of this job is frequent and continuous computer based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
