This role assembles, manufactures, and reconditions ultra precision diamond tools using specialized grinding, lapping, and inspection equipment. The technician follows established work instructions and contributes to continuous improvement in diamond tool manufacturing processes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy and workmanship.

Basic Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clean and safe work area.

- Execute daily production schedule.

-Polishing new and used tools to meet customer requirements and quality standards.

· Use of basic computer applications

· Set-up and safe operation of lapping and tabling grinding machines, following established set-up, process, and quality work instruction

· Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines

· Inspection of diamond tools under Microscopes and record findings.

· Performs laser watt testing of OPTIMUStools

· Laser engraves tool identification codes

· Conduct quality inspections using calipers, height gauges, check fixtures and drop gauges.

· Print and apply tool labels to tool cases

· Evaluate current processes and products to develop and implement continuous improvement ideas

· Maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Evaluate existing processes, products and contribute in continuous improvement ideas.

Advanced Responsibilities:

Prepares Coborn Radius programs for new tools and processes

· Responsible for the set-up and safe operation of Coborn Radius machines.

· Consults with technical team to determine best methods of manufacturing, fixturing, and inspection

needs

· Operate PGI Talyrond Metrology equipment

· Support the development and optimization of diamond tool machining to improve efficiency and

consistency.

· Document processes and work instructions for diamond tool manufacturing.

· Ability to perform diamond setting and brazing

· Use of Advanced Metrology computer applications

Requirements:

.Proficient in MS Office suite.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Must have strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Understand CNC and machine programming and have the ability to create and/or modify programs.

· Ability to read and understand traditional blueprints.

· Must have excellent decision-making abilities

· Leadership skills

· High school diploma/GED

PAY RANGE:

• $20 - $28/HR BASED ON COMPETENCY
