AVB is seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Assistant to support our residential construction operations. This hands-on position plays an important role in maintaining safe, organized, and productive job sites while assisting Project Managers throughout the construction process.
What You'll Do
- Help maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and organization of assigned communities and job sites.
- Ensure permits, safety information, required signage, and other job site documentation are properly displayed.
- Install temporary safety and access features such as boardwalks, stairways, handrails, and temporary door hardware.
- Perform site clean-up and maintenance activities including debris removal, sweeping, vacuuming, and general housekeeping.
- Transport materials, supplies, and equipment between job sites and suppliers.
- Assist with material pickups, returns, and inventory organization.
- Support trade contractors and Project Managers with daily construction activities.
- Help ensure job sites meet AVB's standards for safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a driving record check.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous construction experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
- Regularly work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Walk and navigate active construction sites and uneven terrain.
- Climb stairs and ladders safely.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on job sites.
