Construction Assistant

AVB is seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Assistant to support our residential construction operations. This hands-on position plays an important role in maintaining safe, organized, and productive job sites while assisting Project Managers throughout the construction process.

What You'll Do

• Help maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and organization of assigned communities and job sites.
• Ensure permits, safety information, required signage, and other job site documentation are properly displayed.
• Install temporary safety and access features such as boardwalks, stairways, handrails, and temporary door hardware.
• Perform site clean-up and maintenance activities including debris removal, sweeping, vacuuming, and general housekeeping.
• Transport materials, supplies, and equipment between job sites and suppliers.
• Assist with material pickups, returns, and inventory organization.
• Support trade contractors and Project Managers with daily construction activities.
• Help ensure job sites meet AVB's standards for safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a driving record check.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous construction experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Walk and navigate active construction sites and uneven terrain.
• Climb stairs and ladders safely.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on job sites.
