Porter W. Yett Co. is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Mechanic to join our materials division. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing crusher and asphalt plant equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain crushing plant, aggregate, and asphalt plant equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, crushers, screens, motors, bearings, pumps, and other plant equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Weld, fabricate, and replace components as needed
- Maintain equipment and work areas in safe operating condition
- Work closely with plant operators and supervisors to minimize downtime
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Respond to breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs when needed
- Experience working as an industrial mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Knowledge of crushing, aggregate, asphalt plant, or industrial equipment preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor environments
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Valid driver’s license preferred
