Evergreen Home Performance, a leading company in Maine’s residential energy efficiency sector, is looking for a Supervisor to join our dynamic team in our Portland office. If you’re experienced in the trades, enjoy mentoring others, and want to help homeowners improve their comfort while reducing energy costs, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.


About the Role

As a Supervisor, you will lead a team of technicians in providing top-tier energy efficiency and basement waterproofing solutions for homeowners. In addition to hands-on work installing insulation, air sealing in attics and basement waterproofing solutions, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards, and providing guidance and support to less experienced team members.

This is an ideal role for someone with a solid trades background who is ready to take on more responsibility, manage a team, and continue making a tangible difference in people’s lives through energy-efficient home improvements.


What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is both a skilled technician and an effective leader. You should be capable of managing both projects and people, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Strong communication and organizational skills are key, as well as a deep understanding of home construction and building science. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a Team: Supervise and support a team of technicians, ensuring team morale, high-quality work, and on-time project completion
  • Hands-On Installation: Perform energy efficiency services such as insulation and air sealing in attics, basements, and other areas of the home
  • Mentor and Train: Provide training, guidance, and feedback to less experienced technicians to help them grow in their roles
  • Project Management: Ensure projects are completed according to company standards, on schedule, and within budget
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with homeowners to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
  • Safety and Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed safely, with attention to detail and adherence to quality standards
  • Administrative Duties: Track job progress, report on team performance, and maintain accurate records


Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in residential energy efficiency, basement waterproofing or a related trade (such as insulation, or general construction)
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of home construction, building science, and energy efficiency techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by example
  • Ability to manage a team, ensure accountability, and provide constructive feedback
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments and weather conditions
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces
    • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to wear a respirator 

Other Requirements

  • Valid Class C driver’s license


Compensation and Benefits

  • Wage: $30/hour and up, based on experience & up to $12K in yearly performance bonuses
  • Hiring Bonus: $5,000

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, typically 40 hours per week
