Apprentice Facilities Engineer at Providence Portland Medical Center- Full-Time, Variable ScheduleÂ
The Building Engineer/Limited Maintenance Electrical (LME) Apprentice is required to:Â
- Be enrolled the Limited Maintenance Electrical License apprenticeship program and complete the classroom work and on the job training within the time frames defined the Limited Maintenance Electrical License apprenticeship program standards.
- Complete the apprenticeship documentation accurately and on time.
- Pass the Limited Maintenance Electrical License Test.
- Acts, at all times, to maintain a safe patient care environment and work place.
- Acts, at all times, in a manner that supports a respectful, cooperative, and positive work environment.
- Maintains and repairs mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, hospital equipment and appliances within the limits of the electrical code or under the supervision of journeyman building engineer.
- Monitors, operates and maintain central plant systems including; boilers, chillers, medical gas and emergency power generators.
- Monitors and operates the building control and fire alarm systems.
- Respond to fire and other emergency events as directed.

Required Qualifications:
- Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.Â
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training Trained in use of computerized building controls system (DDC). Or equivalent education/experience
- 3 years Experience in central plant operations and maintenance.
- Experienced in the operations of fire alarm systems.
