Project Overview: 

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative to replace the existing maintenance and administrative facilities at Acadia National Park by demolishing outdated and non-code-compliant structures and constructing a new energy-efficient, code-compliant maintenance facility. The work also includes related site improvements such as roadways, parking, utilities, a septic field, retaining walls, and stormwater management features to support park operations and visitors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Act as the primary on-site representative, providing day-to-day construction management oversight and support throughout the duration of the project 
  • Evaluate, coordinate, and monitor contractor submittals, RFIs, schedules, and other project documents to ensure compliance with contract requirements 
  • Perform routine site inspections to assess construction progress, workmanship, quality standards, safety practices, and conformance with project specifications 
  • Organize and participate in project meetings, document discussions and decisions, and prepare meeting minutes and project correspondence 
  • Track and document contractor adherence to safety requirements, identify potential concerns, and support ongoing safety oversight efforts 
  • Review contractor invoices, certified payrolls, quality control reports, closeout documents, warranties, and operating manuals for accuracy and contractual compliance 
  • Develop cost estimates and provide analysis of contractor proposals, change requests, claims, and contract modification activities 
  • Support project scheduling efforts by reviewing schedule updates, identifying potential impacts to critical milestones, coordinating inspections, and maintaining detailed progress records, reports, and photographic documentation

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

Education/Certification:

  • Minimum OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training certification is required 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices, applicable building codes, and construction safety regulations

Experience:

  • Experience providing on-site construction management services for construction projects 
  • Experience reviewing construction submittals, RFIs, contractor schedules, payment applications, and project documentation 
  • Experience conducting construction inspections and evaluating workmanship, quality, code compliance, and project progress 
  • Experience preparing cost estimates, analyzing contractor proposals, and supporting contract modifications and negotiations 
  • Experience monitoring construction safety requirements, accident prevention measures, and contractor compliance with safety programs 
  • Experience coordinating project stakeholders, facilitating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining project records and correspondence 
  • Experience reviewing and managing project schedules, tracking critical path activities, and documenting construction progress through reports and photographs

Key Attributes & Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements applicable to construction projects 
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety standards and the ability to monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and Accident Prevention Plans 
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to support cost estimating, proposal evaluation, contract modifications, and issue resolution 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and technical documentation 
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including the National Park Service, contractors, architects/engineers, and project staff 
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and document management, including the ability to review schedules, track workflows, and maintain project records 
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use Oracle Primavera Project, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and construction management software platforms
