Rivera Mansions, a leading provider of specialized senior living care, is looking for an experienced, skilled, and compassionate Cooks to prepare delicious meals for our residents. 

What You'll Do: 

As a Cook, you'll be responsible for serving our senior residents under the direction of our Management and Registered Dietitian. Your key responsibilities include: 

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious, and appetizing food.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Meet Federal and State health standards and codes for proper food storage, handling, and preparation. Prepare meals according to planned menus, diet plans, portion control, and sanitary procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Check and record food temperatures prior to serving, ensuring meals are palatable, appetizing, and appealing.
  • Inventory & Cleaning: Assure food and supplies are adequate by proper organization and inventory. Keep the kitchen, pantry, food service and storage areas clean and organized. Coordinate with Facility Administrator or designee of needed supplies or equipment maintenance.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Who We're Looking For: 

We're seeking a hands-on professional with the following qualifications: 

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of one year of experience cooking in a restaurant or the dietary department in a congregate setting.
    • Experience in a senior or assisted living setting is preferred.
  • Certifications: Must hold required state certification or service license (e.g., Valid Oregon Food Handler's Card) and pass the Criminal Background Unit.
  • Skills: Proficient at reading written menus and directions, comprehending verbal instructions, and writing at a level necessary for job expectations. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
