We are currently recruiting for a Fabrication Designer Sr. to join our team in one of our regional office locations (Bloomfield CT., Miramar FL., Mendota Heights MN., or Portland OR.)


Job Summary: 
The Fabrication Designer Sr. works within the Design team and is responsible for reading and interpreting 2D shop drawings of curtain wall, and then translating them into 3D using Autodesk Inventor and bill of materials for material planning and orders with minimal oversight. They will work with Sr. designers, engineers, and production managers to translate design concepts into production information. The Fabrication Designer Sr. is expected to mentor others, be responsible for creating strategies for projects, and stay on a project through various steps.

Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately interpret 2D shop drawings into 3D models and BOM to ensure specifications are effectively communicated to the design and production teams.

  • Coordinate effectively with various departments, fostering a collaborative team environment and professional growth.

  • Follows standards set forth by the company and project team.

  • Completes tasks within the time allotted or communicates well ahead of deadline with request for support.

  • Lead design training initiatives to enhance team proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD technologies, promoting continuous skill development as required.

  • Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of release and fabrication information from the project design team

  • Coordinates effectively with greaterteam and other project design leads, fostering a collaborative team environment and professional growth.

  • Ensures that all standards are followed on their projects including internal performance documentation

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree preferred in Architectural Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering. 
  • 7+ Years relevant experience
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and PMF (or related) software
  • Proficient in Excel, Navisworks, AutoCAD
  • Overtime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance
  • International travel may be required to the country where the project may be located or relevant inter-company responsible for the project execution.
