Department Overview

The Department of Interventional Radiology is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiologist for an academic faculty position to lead the Interventional Oncology services as Director of Interventional Oncology. The candidate should have broad experience in clinical interventional oncology, including being up to date with the clinical data, experience in multidisciplinary tumor boards and broad experience and knowledge in cancer therapeutics.  The successful candidate will have a positive track record in programmatic leadership, growing clinical practice and initiating clinical trials, and will have an active clinical and/or translational research program.

 

Additional responsibilities will include supporting the overall Body IR practice including inpatient services, trauma, peripheral arterial disease, PE interventions and portal hypertension/TIPS.  Clinical responsibilities will cover the university service, including care for patients from Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, as well as the Portland VA Health Care System.  After hours call responsibilities will be commensurate with faculty in the OHSU Body IR section. The department operates a full-service inpatient consultation service as well as an outpatient clinic service for new consultations and follow up.  In addition to excellence in clinical care and teaching, the successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to academic interventional radiology and research.  The department runs a dedicated 10,000 sq/ft translational research facility and is also very active in clinical research with several collaborative clinical trials.

 

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

 

The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology serves as a beacon of both internationally recognized research and locally delivered advanced clinical care. The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology is a part of the OHSU School of Medicine, with its own admitting service and clinic. We provide all the diagnostic angiographic, interventional radiologic, and neurointerventional services to the OHSU and VA Hospitals.

Required Qualifications

The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), Oregon medical license and completion of ACGME-accredited training in interventional radiology. The candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications.
