Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance, safety, compliance, maintenance, and customer experience across PetroCard's network of fueling facilities. This position provides leadership to the Site Maintenance team and oversees facility maintenance programs, capital improvement projects, regulatory compliance initiatives, vendor relationships, and operational budgets. The Facilities Manager ensures PetroCard's facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting company growth objectives and delivering exceptional customer experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, develop, coach, and mentor Site Maintenance Technicians and support staff. 
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations and support employee development. 
  • Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, succession planning, and employee relations. 
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement. 

 

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies that maximize site uptime and operational reliability. 
  • Monitor operational performance through established KPIs and service standards. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience. 
  • Establish preventive maintenance programs and operational best practices. 
  • Ensure timely resolution of facility issues impacting customers or operations. 

 

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain oversight of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements affecting facilities. 
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Ecology, Clean Air Agency, environmental, safety, and operational regulations. 
  • Participate in investigations of incidents, near misses, and compliance concerns. 
  • Partner with Safety leadership to implement risk reduction initiatives. 

 

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Maintain relationships with maintenance contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers. 
  • Ensure vendors comply with PetroCard safety and operational standards. 
  • Support project timelines, budgets, and contractor performance. 

 

Customer Experience

  • Champion a customer-first approach throughout facility operations. 
  • Respond to customer feedback and operational issues affecting service quality. 
  • Ensure facilities reflect PetroCard's brand standards. 

 

Other Duties

  • Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost control. 
  • Participate in operational and safety meetings. 
  • Provide operational reporting and recommendations to functional leadership. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or higher in related field (Operations, Engineering, Construction, Facilities) preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible operations, facilities maintenance, petroleum operations, fleet fueling, or related industry experience. 
  • 3+ years of lead or supervisory experience directing multiple employees. 
  • Experience managing projects. 
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments with environmental compliance and fuel systems preferred. 
  • Demonstrated success leading operational improvement initiatives. 
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record at time of hire.
  • Petroleum distribution, cardlock, convenience retail, terminal operations, transportation, fleet services, or industrial facilities experience preferred. 
  • Experience managing multi-site operations preferred.
