With over 300 dedicated employees and a reputation for excellence, we offer a dynamic environment focused on developing new products, fostering professional growth, and shaping the future of technology.   The Opportunity Provide hands-on leadership of Process Engineers and Engineering Technicians within the hot-side manufacturing organization at Tosoh Quartz. In this role you will oversee all aspects of the department’s work, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.   What You’ll Do People and Processes Guide and develop engineering staff while creating a culture of ownership and accountability; ensure team has the tools and training necessary to be successful in their roles. Work cross-functionally to improve, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes within the production facility. Drive process standardization to support repeatable systems and processes within a high unit/low volume environment. Utilize Lean methodology to reduce manufacturing time, improve First Pass Yield, and reduce scrap in the production process. Project Management Partner with management, NPI Engineering, and Production to select and manage projects to improve operational performance. Support engineering projects by coordinating workflows and defining expectations and responsibilities during product launch and handoff; work with engineers to ensure projects stay on track. Support engineers in validating operation times and sequence accuracy to standardize and correct workflows for all parts. Work in collaboration with the Durham facility to align processes and identify best practices.   Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering; mechanical, industrial or electrical. 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing. Experience using data to inform decisions. Experience partnering with production in a CNC machining environment, working with various material fabrication Proven success implementing and utilizing Lean methodology in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success reducing waste and improving flow optimization, and throughput Emotional intelligence and professionalism when navigating conflict, differing opinions or competing priorities. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively engineers, production staff and supervisors, quality teams, and executives.   Preferred Qualifications Experience working with quartz, glass, or ceramics. PMP certification or 1+ years of experience as a project manager Experience with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing. Robotic automation experience.
