Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for accuracy and quality in laboratory work? At Interpath Laboratory, we’re looking for a Technical Assistant to support our mission of delivering top-notch toxicology services to our community. This position includes the performance of both high and moderate complexity chemistry-based toxicology testing from sample preparation to data review and reporting.
Pay: Starts at $23/hour
Schedule: Initial schedule for training will be Monday through Friday, then will transition to the schedule of Tuesday - Saturday, 7 am - 3:30 pm.

What You’ll Do:
- Support Lab Operations: Perform a broad range of laboratory procedures alongside a team of laboratory professionals.
- Operate Advanced Equipment: Work with complex laboratory instruments, electronic systems, and precision tools, providing troubleshooting support when needed.
- Includes: Pipetting small volumes, sample extraction/preparation, instrument maintenance, chromatographic data analysis, and result reporting.
- Ensure Quality: Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance initiatives to maintain our high standards.
- Administrative Excellence: Deliver exceptional customer service, answer phones professionally, and ensure accurate documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Safety First: Follow established safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Evolve with Us: Take on additional duties as operational needs grow and change, contributing to the success of the entire team.
Education & Scientific Knowledge:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science field is required. Relevant fields may include, but are not limited to: Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory practices, principles and equipment.
- Mass Spectrometry (LC/GC) experience preferred
- Coursework or prior experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or clinical laboratory sciences is highly desirable.
- Educational background ensures candidates have the scientific understanding needed to contribute to high-quality toxicology services and test development/optimizations.
- Ability to work in the US without an employer sponsored visa is required.

Physical Requirements:
Must utilize appropriate protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield) at all times while in the lab and are regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples. Physical requirements, in addition to willingness & ability to wear protective gear while working, are:
- Ability to sit and or stand for extended period of times
- Lift up to 25 pounds
- Mobility to climb stairs on a regular basis
- Must be able to distinguish color and pass vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations
OSHA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
