The On-Call Banquet Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during special events and functions. This position requires flexibility and readiness to work on short notice, ensuring seamless service at banquets, weddings, corporate events, and other gatherings. The primary goal is to provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests, contributing to the overall success and positive reputation of the hosting venue. The role demands collaboration with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and fellow servers to maintain high standards of food presentation and guest satisfaction. Ultimately, the On-Call Banquet Server helps create memorable experiences by upholding professionalism and responsiveness in a dynamic event environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in food service or banquet serving preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in banquet or catering service environments.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to carry trays and lift up to 25 pounds safely.
- Familiarity with POS systems or order tracking software.
- Certification in food safety or hospitality training.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to on-call requests to staff banquet events as needed.
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and place settings.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and timely manner, adhering to established service standards.
- Assist with clearing tables and resetting rooms between courses or events to maintain cleanliness and order.
- Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of service throughout the event.
- Maintain awareness of guest needs and respond proactively to requests or concerns.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
