About The Portland Clinic

Founded in 1921, The Portland Clinic is Oregon’s oldest private multi-specialty medical group. With six locations across the Portland metro area, we serve over 90,000 patients annually with a mission-driven, community-based approach to care. Our commitment is simple: Be trustworthy, kind, and considerate. Treat everyone like family and build relationships that last.

We remain proudly physician-owned and governed, providing a practice environment that fosters autonomy, collegiality, and purpose-driven care. TPC is not part of a large corporate system—our legacy is 100% Portland, and our focus is 100% on our patients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support Gastroenterology, ENT, and Orthopedic service across outpatient clinics and ambulatory surgery centers at our Tigard (TMO) and Beaverton locations.

This is a highly collaborative, well-supported role within a respected, physician-led group, offering strong compensation, procedural exposure, and long-term career stability. The PA will work closely with GI, ENT, and Orthopedic physicians and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate patients, assist with procedures, manage follow-up care, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Evaluation & Care: Conduct specialty-focused patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and initial work-ups across GI, ENT, and Orthopedic conditions. Formulate preliminary diagnoses and review findings with supervising physicians.
  • Procedural Support: Assist with procedures including GI endoscopy (colonoscopies and upper endoscopies) and support care pathways related to ENT and Orthopedic services as assigned. Prepare patients, provide technical and clinical support, monitor patients, and complete pre- and post-procedure evaluations.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans for a broad range of conditions, including GI disorders (IBD, IBS, GERD, liver disease), ENT concerns, and musculoskeletal/orthopedic conditions. Manage medications, order and interpret labs and imaging, and coordinate referrals.
  • Outpatient Clinic Management: Independently manage routine follow-ups, monitor chronic conditions, adjust treatments per established protocols, and ensure timely access to care and counseling.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedure preparation (including colonoscopy prep), post-procedure care, rehabilitation or follow-up expectations, dietary guidance, and preventive strategies.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, safety standards, infection control, and privacy regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, anesthesia teams, medical assistants, and ancillary staff. Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with advancements across GI, ENT, and Orthopedics through CME, workshops, and specialty conferences.
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program with current NCCPA certification (PA-C)
  • Active or eligible Oregon PA license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty
  • Familiarity with GI conditions and endoscopic procedure workflows
  • BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
  • EMR proficiency and ability to order/interpret GI-relevant diagnostics
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain Oregon prescriptive authority/DEA
  • Highly competitive base salary: $130,000–$140,000, with opportunity for growth based on experience
  • Sign-on bonus up to $50,000

  • Employer-Paid Life & AD&D Insurance
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD)
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) – Medical & Dependent Care
  • Optional Voluntary Coverage (Life/AD&D, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness)
  • Mass Transit Benefit (TPC covers 90% of eligible passes)
  • FMLA/OFLA Protected Leave
  • Paid CME Allowance & Time ($1,700–$2,200; 5–10 business days/year)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
