VIP Process Tech
Location: Portland, IN
Compensation:Â $25.37 per hour
Shift: 2nd shift*** While this is a second shift position, the selected candidate will be required to train on first shift for a minimum of one month before transitioning to their regular second shift schedule.

The VIP Process Technician will take ownership of ThermoSafe’s cutting-edge Vacuum Insulation Panel production line. You’ll run, troubleshoot, and continuously optimize high-performance manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, innovative environment—delivering world-class quality, maximum up time, and game-changing efficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and master advanced VIP equipment: vacuum sealing systems, material handling, and automated inspection lines
- Troubleshoot like a pro—rapidly diagnose issues, kill downtime, and keep production humming
- Dive deep into process data to spot trends, boost yield, cut costs, and push performance higher
- Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to launch new products and upgrades
- Lead process improvements, lean projects, and root-cause problem solving
- Mentor junior techs and champion best practices on the floor
- Own preventative maintenance, SOP creation/revision, and flawless documentation
- Live and breathe safety, quality, and operational excellence every shift
Qualifications
- Hands on experience plus technical understanding in high-volume or advanced materials manufacturing
- Proven experience with vacuum systems, sealing tech, or cleanroom environments (huge plus)
- Strong mechanical/electrical skills—can read schematics and fix complex equipment fast
- Comfortable with PLCs, SPC, Six Sigma tools, and precision measurement
Preferred
- Data-driven mindset with sharp problem-solving instincts
- Self-starter who thrives in a rapid environment and collaborates effortlessly
- Excellent communication—written and verbal—and solid computer skills (MS Office)
- Flexibility to work any shift, including nights/weekends as needed
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent real-world experience
