At the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute at Providence, we strive to create a training environment that stimulates creativity and nurtures professionalism, and puts postdoctoral fellows on a path to their future. Fellowships are for one year and may be renewed annually based on demonstrated progress of the Fellows IDP and will not typically extend past 5 years. Fellows are expected to apply for external funding within 2 years of their assignment and are expected to submit at least one 1st author manuscript within the first 3 years of their assignment; then one per year thereafter. Fellows perform complex biomedical experiments in support of a research activity or specialized scientific service laboratory. Fellows are expected to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for solving problems. Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a discipline pertinent to biomedical research.
- Experience in presenting original research in oral and written format is essential, as is proven success in writing and publishing original research.
- Demonstrates a track record of progressive biomedical research that indicates a growing level of research independence.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, genomics or molecular biology or equivalent education/experience or experience in the field of immunology.
