Job DetailsJob Location: TownePlace Suites Portland - Portland, TX 78374Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayPosition Summary The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas in accordance with TownePlace Suites by Marriott brand standards. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring all assigned rooms meet Marriott's cleanliness, quality, and safety expectations while providing friendly and professional guest service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and service assigned guest rooms, suites, and bathrooms according to Marriott brand standards and hotel procedures. Change bed linens, make beds, replace towels, vacuum carpets and floors, and sanitize all bathroom fixtures. Dust and clean all furniture, fixtures, décor, televisions, air conditioning units, window ledges, mirrors, lamps, and other room surfaces. Replenish guest room amenities including toiletries, coffee supplies, drinking glasses, writing materials, towels, and linens. Remove trash and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation meet hotel quality standards. Notify the Front Desk immediately when guest rooms are cleaned and ready for occupancy. Report rooms that cannot be serviced within established time standards to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, safety hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly. Replace light bulbs and perform minor room upkeep as assigned. Maintain linen carts, housekeeping closets, and maid stations in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition. Properly secure and account for housekeeping keys, equipment, and supplies issued during each shift. Follow Lost and Found procedures by immediately reporting and turning in guest belongings. Participate in team cleaning, self-inspection, and quality assurance programs. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring concerns are addressed professionally or referred to the appropriate department. Prepare and maintain rollaway beds and other guest room equipment as needed. Maintain professional grooming, appearance, and uniform standards in accordance with Marriott policies. Comply with all Marriott, TownePlace Suites, and hotel safety, security, sanitation, and operational procedures. Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds. Ability to move housekeeping carts and equipment. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. Work Environment Indoor hotel environment with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals. Weekend, holiday, and evening availability may be required. Position requires adherence to all OSHA, Marriott, and hotel safety guidelines.
