Sheeter Operator – Full-Time – Portland, IN 47371

ATTN Team Members:

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Team Members hired into part time positions are not eligible to bid on promotional positions and/or transfers for a period of 6 months.

 Description:

The starting pay for this position is $23.70/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sheeter Operator operates and monitors a sheeter, making adjustments as needed and reporting any issues to the supervisor or lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE

• Prepares for start-up, shut down of equipment
• Responsible for continual operation of machine and verification that dough is properly sheeted onto roller and cut into proper size and shape
• Responsible for monitoring and operating equipment to ensure continuous and consistent supply of dough to the sheeter.
• Maintains accurate records on log sheets and in a computer-based system
• Responsible for taking periodic weights and temperatures of product to verify customer specifications are being met
• Responsible for inspecting areas of responsibility for possible foreign material issues and promptly notifies Supervisor and QC of any contamination
• Must have the ability to enter data as needed into a computer-based system
• Responsible for replacing bands and wires as needed
• Communicates with fryer operators about product appearance, performance and scrap
• Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
• Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
• Required to use and read scales, stopwatch and thermometers
•  Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator

Must be willing and able to lift 50lbs occasionally

The Team Member will flex/grip with wrists/hands

The Team Member will walk, bend, stand, and climb steps

Openings for this position will be posted for three (3) working days (Tues-Thurs) utilizing Workday system for application process. 

Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson’s Job Bidding Policy.  Bidding disqualifiers include having:

More than four (4) attendance points

Active written warning within the last three (3) months

Written warning with suspension within the last six (6) months

Less than six months in current position (unless promotional position).

*TM WILL HAVE A FIVE (5) DAY TRIAL PERIOD IN POSITION; after the five-day period, TM must remain in position, bid on promotional position (not guaranteed), or demote by completing a Status Change Form, notifying HR, and being transferred to any available GPW position.  If self-demote, TM will be placed on a six (6) month “freeze” in which he/she cannot bid on any other positions. 

This applies as soon as TM completes five day qualification period in position.  If you do not want position once it is offered, please DECLINE offer in Workday.
