ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work from tool room schedule to ensure that production tooling and equipment is ready to meet customer requirements   

  1. Troubleshoot tooling problems at presses                                                                       
  2. Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production                      
  3. Work on production equipment when necessary to maintain production      
  4. Requisition supplies and spare parts for tool room and dies and keep these areas organized                                                                   
  5. Maintain clean work areas                                                                 
  6. Work with outside tradesman as required                                                                       
  7. Available for overtime as required                                                                 
  8. Available for training as required                                                                   
  9. Suggest methods of improvement (Continuous Improvement Plan)                    
  10. Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, &/or improvements            
  11. Work with Engineers to create &/or modify prints to reflect changes                     
  12. Perform Preventive maintenance by assignment                                                     
  13. Willing to accept other additional job duties from next level leader

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Required - High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred - Certified Toolmaker or 5 years experience  in Tool and Die field
  • Would be nice - Apprenticeship Program completion

 

 Experience and skill requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years Tool and Die maker
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and able to make and meet specific goals in the Tooling Department                                                               
  • Willing to learn or possess computer skills including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD                                                                       
  • Willing to learn simple electronics for sensor program assistance                                                                                       

 

 Language Skills:

 Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English).

 Training: 

  • IATF16949 / ISO14001 / toolmaker baseline training
  • TQPS Continuous Improvement training
  • Mistake Proofing Philosophy, Forklift Certification    
  • Overhead Crane Certification 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS 

Plant:  Experience in various types of manufacturing environments.

Travel: Minimal
