Inside the Role

Is responsible for the integration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and components to ensure optimal performance and functionality of the vehicle.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 - $150,000 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​. What You Drive At DTNA:

  • Designing and developing the ADAS technical specifications and attributes, considering factors such as performance, safety, and regulatory requirements

  • Developing and reviewing the vehicle (feature and component) validation plans to ensure comprehensive testing of the integrated systems, identifying any potential issues or areas for improvement

  • Managing product development projects related to vehicle integration, overseeing the implementation and integration of various systems and components into the overall vehicle architecture

  • Conducting regular evaluations and assessments to ensure the successful integration of systems and components, identifying any areas that require further optimization or refinement

  • Integrating ADAS software and hardware within the vehicle

  • Interface with wide range of stakeholders end-to-end across the organization ranging from product strategy, to embedded software developers, to aftermarket field service

  • Improve competitive market position by keeping abreast of state-of-the-art developments in the commercial vehicle industry and applying knowledge to new designs

  • Ongoing continuous collaboration with the global Daimler Truck ADAS teams for feature development and product adaptation

  • Model and analyze performance of ADAS systems across a variety of vehicle platforms using both internal and external resources

  • Analyze and provide creative, technically feasible solutions to challenges encountered in validation and production

  • Lead and mentor other engineers, designers, students, and interns in engineering processes and methods and in the identification and resolution of the root cause of complex problems

Knowledge You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent) Degree from an accredited university with at least six years of related experience

  • High level of proficiency expected in all current office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. as well as AI accelerators

  • Moderate level of proficiency expected in engineering design review and software/component function-level specification documentation for vehicle based electronics

  • High level of proficiency expected in vehicle system validation and troubleshooting in ADAS or adjacent systems

  • Moderate level of proficiency expected in communication networking, specifically vehicle based, including CAN and Ethernet

  • Moderate level of proficiency expected in programming and control systems modeling of active vehicle features

  • High level of proficiency expected in technical feature management and cross-functional engineering including HMI, Diagnostics, etc.

  • Moderate level of proficiency expected in verbal and written skills, and in preparing and giving technical presentations, and status reports to various management levels both regionally (DTNA) and globally (DTEU)

  • Moderate level of proficiency expected in teaching others relevant engineering concepts and tools, and in leading and mentoring others in identifying and solving complex problems
