Gensco has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Lead for our Shipping Team at our branch in Portland, Oregon!

   

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising the day-to-day warehousing, delivery, and customer service functions of the Shipping Team
  • Responsible for Team building, implementing continuous education processes for all Branch Team Members, establishing objective and measurable goals, and clearly communicating these goals and standards to Branch Team
  • Train Team Members meeting Company standards
  • Maintain a positive, helpful attitude toward fellow Team Members and Customers
  • Comply with Company Standard Operating Procedures and maintain safe work practices and security
  • Suggest and implement improvements in warehouse cost management, best practices, and operational process design and implementation

 Education/Experience/Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • AA degree preferred or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2+ years related experience with Gensco or equivalent preferred
  • Prior direct customer service experience – desire to work directly with Customers
  • Excellent knowledge of the products Gensco sells
  • Understanding of Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Warehouse, and Delivery functions
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Strong decision-making abilities - understanding the impact and implications of decisions
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong people management and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize people and resources to get the job done
  • Able to operate computer terminal, personal computer, and office machines
  • Able to communicate with the public in person and on the phone
  • Able to work sitting or standing and move freely throughout the facility(s)
  • Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies, and inventory on a frequent basis
  • Able to organize people within the TDC/Branch and promote teamwork
