Your Opportunity 

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate would have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world.  This role would provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth.  

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.  As a Mechanical/Piping Designer, you will be responsible to work on various industrial projects. This role involves design work under minimal supervision.  You would be relied on to make sound mechanical designs, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate the preparation of contract drawings, sketches, and concept design through to construction.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success.
  • Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
  • Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to Junior team members.
  • Drawing preparation using AutoCAD, Plant3d, Cadworx, Inventor, Solidworks, Revit, AvevaE3D, MicroStation, etc.
  • 3D modeling and design of piping and mechanical systems.
  • Data collection and verification in our client’s facilities.
  • Preparation of isometric drawings.
  • Field representation and drawing interpretation.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
