LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Portland, OR. This role works in a high volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.Ā

Work Schedule: This is a casual/per diem position, hours will be "as needed". Start and end times will vary on 3rdShift.Ā

Ā Job ResponsibilitiesĀ
Receive and sort clinical lab specimensĀ
Prepare specimens for testing and analysisĀ Ā
Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient informationĀ
Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenanceĀ Ā
Troubleshoot any specimen related issuesĀ
Replenish test bench supplies as neededĀ
Maintain a clean and safe work environmentĀ
Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requestedĀ
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standardsĀ
Ā
Job RequirementsĀ
High school diploma or equivalentĀ
Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferredĀ
Comfortability with handling biological specimensāÆĀ
Ability to accurately identify specimensāÆĀ
Basic computer knowledge and data entry skillsĀ Ā
High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitaskĀ Ā
Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around timesĀ
Strong communication skills; both written and verbalĀ
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of timeĀ
Must pass a standardized color blindness testĀ Ā
Flexibility to work overtime as neededĀ
