About The Position

Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Otolaryngology/ENT Surgeon for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Maine. This 35-day assignment spans multiple periods from October 13, 2025, to January 2, 2026, with additional opportunities. The schedule is typically 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, with clinic hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The ideal candidate will be proficient in endoscopic procedures, septoplasty, sinus surgery, bronchoscopy, laryngoscopy, parotidectomy, and radical neck surgery for both adults and pediatric patients. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a well-equipped facility while enjoying the flexibility of a locum tenens role, with the possibility of extension.

Schedule: 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM (Clinic hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform general surgical and nonsurgical otolaryngology procedures 

• Conduct endoscopic procedures, septoplasty, and sinus surgeries 

• Carry out flexible and rigid bronchoscopies 

• Perform laryngoscopies and extended parotidectomies 

• Conduct radical neck surgeries for both adult and pediatric patients 

• Utilize flexible laryngoscopy scopes and rigid scopes (0 and 30 degree) 

• Operate microscopes for ear examinations and procedures 

• Use ENT cart with internal suction machine for ear cleanings and post-operative sinus debridement 

• Utilize Cerner electronic health record system for documentation 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care 

• Maintain a high standard of patient care and safety 

• Communicate effectively with patients about their conditions and treatment options 

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures 

• Participate in on-call duties as required


Requirements: 

• Active Maine state medical license 

• Board certification in Otolaryngology 

• Experience in general surgical and nonsurgical otolaryngology 

• Proficiency in endoscopic procedures, septoplasty, and sinus surgeries 

• Competence in flexible and rigid bronchoscopy 

• Experience with laryngoscopy, parotidectomy, and radical neck surgery 

• Comfort with both adult and pediatric ENT procedures 

• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system 

• Excellent surgical skills and attention to detail 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
